Construction of this new, state-of-the-art 595,744 square foot ambulatory and medical center at the University of Maryland began in 2018. The facility, located in the heart of Prince George’s County, includes an 11-level main tower with two roof helipads, 45 ER treatment bays, 8 operating rooms, and 205 acute-care licensed beds as well as 20 observational beds.
The lighting and lighting control systems for this project included the installation of 11,000 light fixtures and a state-of-the-art network control system. Light fixtures consist of 2,000 downlights, 3,100 lay-in fixtures, 950 decorative downlights, 750 surgical and clean room fixtures, 6,700 feet of linear fixtures, 1,200 feet of cove lighting, 600 exit lights, and nearly 100 pole light fixtures on the building exterior.
